Square Enix revealed today that Final Fantasy XV will get an Xbox One update and to demonstrate what kind of graphics improvements fans can expect, they've also provided two 4K screenshots. You can see the first one above and the second one below.

Square Enix did not say whether the game would run at native 4K on the Xbox One X. That seems highly unlikely, though, since the PlayStation 4 Pro currently runs Final Fantasy XV at 1800P through checkerboard rendering and there's a lot of judder even at 30FPS.

Perhaps something like 1440P(2560x1440) at stable 60FPS could be feasible, though, with the increased horsepower allowed by Microsoft's upcoming console.

Final Fantasy XV is about to get the Episode Prompto DLC, due for release on June 27th alongside the Regalia Type-D free update. The Season Pass you might have bought also include the last DLC episode dedicated to Ignis and the Multiplayer Expansion Comrades, which is set to introduce cooperative multiplayer to the game.

Finally, Square Enix also unveiled Monster of the Deep: Final Fantasy XV, a fishing action game for PlayStation VR set to release this September, and the mobile game King's Knight - Wrath of the Dragon. You can check out our Final Fantasy XV review here.
