After the Xbox Developer Direct and the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, it was Sony's turn to reclaim the spotlight. After a quiet start to the year, Sony has officially pulled back the curtain on a massive February State of Play, delivering a beefy broadcast that set the tone for the PS5’s 2026 lineup, with some unexpected surprises thrown into the mix.

Everything Announced

Kena: Scars of Kosmora

A direct sequel to Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Kena: Scars of Kosmora sees an older, more experienced Kena traveling to the island of Kosmora to find a cure for a mysterious spirit affliction. Gameplay expands on the original with deeper combat and a spirit companion that serves as a mount. Coming in 2026 on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Ghost of Yotei: Legends

Ghost of Yotei: Legends is free multiplayer DLC for Ghost of Yotei, launching on March 10 on PlayStation 5. The announcement trailer provided a first look at its 4-player co-op experience

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach PC Release

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on PC on March 19, complete with some PC-exclusive features, including ultrawide resolution support, upscaling, and frame generation.

4:LOOP Gameplay Deep Dive

Developed by Bad Robot Games and led by Left 4 Dead creator Mike Booth, 4:LOOP is set to deliver an exhilarating multiplayer experience where players will have to navigate a world where aliens have turned 99,99% of humanity into glass. Coming in 2026 on PC and PlayStation 5with a Closed Beta starting this Spring

PRAGMATA World View Trailer

The latest PRAGMATA trailer provides a better look at the game's gorgeous world, which includes a 3D printed Times Square-like area dominated by massive structures where plenty of mysteries lie. Launches April 24, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2; a demo is available now on all formats.

Resident Evil Requiem

The latest look at Resident Evil Requiem, and possibly the final one before its launch, provided a new look at the dilapidated Racoon City, a location fans of the series know well, and at the supporting cast, which includes the young Emily, Grace's supervisor at the FBI, Nathan Dempsey, and Victor Gideon. Launches February 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

Following the remasters of the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver games, the final entry in the main series to date, Legacy of Kain Defiance, is coming to modern hardware next month, complete with improved visuals, a new optional third-person camera and other improvements. Coming March 3 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Brigandine: Abyss

Brigandine: Abyss is the latest entry in the tactical RPG series, featuring a brand-new world that makes it easier for newcomers to enjoy its highly strategic hexagonal-grid-based gameplay. Coming in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round and New DEAD OR ALIVE Project

The DEAD OR ALIVE series is alive and well. Alongside a new version of the sixth entry in the series, DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round, coming on June 25th on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, it has been confirmed that a new project is in development for PlayStation 5.

CONTROL Resonant

Control Resonant received its first proper gameplay showcase, providing an exciting look at what is Remedy's most ambitious game yet. Coming in 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Crimson Moon

Developed by ProbablyMonsters, Crimson Moon is a "Gothic High Renaissance" action-adventure RPG described as a mix between Darksiders and a Soulslike featuring brutal melee combat, celestial "angelic arts" transformations, and an emphasis on high-stakes, replayable missions. Launching in late 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Beast of Reincarnation Release Date

Beast of Reincarnation, the one-person, one-dog" AAA action-RPG from Game Freak, will launch on August 4 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The release date announcement trailer also provided a new look at the game's combat system, which combines fast-paced action with tactical elements.

Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition

Developed by Digital Eclipse to celebrate the series' 30th birthday, Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition bundles five distinct versions of the 1995 original (PlayStation, Atari Jaguar, MS-DOS, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance) alongside the legendary, never-before-playable SNES prototype and plenty of archival content, it launches digitally on February 13 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, physically on June 26.

Mina the Hollower

The long-awaited next project from the Shovel Knight creators at Yacht Club Games, Mina the Hollower will bring retro top-down action this Spring on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. A limited-time PlayStation 5 demo featuring the opening stage and first boss launches on February 13.

Neva: Prologue

Designed for returning players with a higher difficulty curve and new locations featuring new puzzles, the surprise standalone prequel Neva: Prologue from Nomada Studio will explore the emotional origin of the bond between Alba and her wolf companion.Launches on February 19 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Yakoh Shinobi Ops

Developed by Acquire (the original creators of Tenchu) and published by Shueisha Games, Yakoh Shinobi Ops is a hardcore 4-player co-op tactical stealth game where players will have to uphold true Shinobi values in gritty, Warring States-era Japan. Launches in 2027 on PC and PlayStation 5.

Project Windless

In development by Krafton Montréal Studio, Project Windless is a massive AAA open-world action RPG based on the iconic Korean fantasy novel The Bird That Drinks Tears. Using Mass Technology to render thousands of individual AI units on screen, the game will feature a "one-versus-many" experience that blends Dynasty Warriors-style scale with the precision of a modern action-RPG. Launches on an undetermined release date on PC and PlayStation 5.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

The first Star Wars: Galactic Racer gameplay was shown during the State of Play, featuring some intense podracing that is set to make fans of the universe quite happy. Launches in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.

007: First Light Story Trailer

A new look at James Bond's origin story in 007: First Light arrived during the State of Play, setting the stage for the stealth adventure in development by Hitman series creator IO Interactive, launching on May 27 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.2

The Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 collection will launch on August 27 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, including Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and some other surprises. A new update to the Master Collection Vol. 2 launched on February 12 to introduce a high-resolution option for Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Darwin's Paradox

Darwin's Paradox is a quirky "tactical tentacle" adventure from ZDT Studio and Konami. Playing as the clever octopus Darwin, players will have to escape from the mysterious UFOOD Inc. industrial factory using a mix of platforming and creative stealth. Launches on April 2 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. A playable demo is now available on PlayStation 5.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

The Castlevania series is finally back this year after years of complete silence. This new 2D entry in the series is a callback to classic games, with modernized 2D gameplay provided by Motion Twin and Evil Empire, creators of Dead Cells and Rogue: The Prince of Persia. Coming in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Silent Hill Townfall

Developed by Screen Burn Interactive (formerly No Code, creators of Stories Untold and Observation) and Annapurna Interactive, Silent Hill Townfall takes the franchise to a deserted, fog-covered island in Scotland called St. Amelia. As Simon Ordell, a man trapped in a cycle of horrifying events, players will have to break a curse while piecing together a past marked by tragedy in a first-person horror adventure. Coming March 26 on PC and PlayStation 5.

Rev NOiR

A brand-new anime-infused action JRPG from Konami, developed in partnership with ILCA (Dragon Quest XI, One Piece Odyssey), Rev NOiR is set in a world devastated by "Lightfall, a supernatural phenomenon where drops of light kill anything they touch and rewrite the landscape. Launching on a yet-to-be-determined release date exclusively on PlayStation 5.

John Wick

The first AAA John Wick game has been announced, with a teaser trailer showcasing a faithful recreation of the character played by Keanu Reeves in the movie saga. Coming on a yet to be confirmed release date on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Marathon Launch Trailer and Open Server Slam Weekend

Besides providing another look at its upcoming multiplayer extraction shooter with a launch trailer, Bungie confirmed during the State of Play that a Marathon open Server Slam weekend will be held from February 26 to March 2 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S ahead of thegame's launch on March 5, complete with cross-save and cross-play.

Big Walk

From House House, the creators of Untitled Goose Game, comes Big Walk, a cooperative online walker-talker that trades chaos for conversation. Set in a sprawling, serene open world inspired by Australian bushland, players set out on a massive hike where the journey is the entire point and communication and navigation are the core of the experience. Launches in 2026 on PC and PlayStation 5, with cross-platform play and a day-one PS Plus Essential release.

Saros

A new look at Saros' gameplay was presented, highlighting how Housemarque evolved the roguelike formula seen in Returnal, adding greater intensity and complexity. Launches on April 30 exclusively on PlayStation 5.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls

Besides confirming the X-Men for the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the latest trailer shown during this State of Play confirmed an August 6 release date on PC and PlayStation 5 for the tag fighter developed by Arc System Works, set to become the spiritual successor to the MARVEL vs. CAPCOM series.

God of War Trilogy Remake and God of War Sons of Sparta

The State of Play presentation ended with some exciting announcements. God of War Trilogy Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 5, bringing Kratos' Greek saga to modern hardware on an unconfirmed release date. Also available now is God of War Sons of Sparta, the long-rumored Metroidvania take on the series.
