Dishonored 2 Will Have Large Levels With Few Loads; Campaign To Last 12-20 Hours

Arkane Studios' Dishonored 2 is easily one of the most anticipated action/adventure games due in 2016. Four years after the highly acclaimed first game, this sequel aims to build upon what made Dishonored great to create an even better experience.

Co-Creative Director Harvey Smith was kind enough to reveal several gameplay details to fans who asked questions via Twitter. Firstly, he stated that Dishonored 2 will have large levels with only a few loads between them; while the game is not an open world, they want to make the world as seamless as possible.

Earlier, Smith had disclosed the estimated length for the campaign mode of Dishonored 2. According to him, the game will be considerably longer than the previous installment; depending on the side content, it could take from 12 up 20 hours.

By collecting coins, players will be able to purchase various upgrades and ammo via a "network of black markets".

In case you're interested, there will be "prominent" gay/bisexual characters in Dishonored 2.

One gameplay addition is that players may pick an Enhancement that blocks incoming projectiles, which is handy if you want to play more defensively.

Finally, in case you were wondering Corvo Attano's mask is the same he used in Dishonored, just repaired.

Dishonored 2 takes place fifteen years after the original, when Empress Emily Kaldwin is suddenly dethroned. The game allows players to choose to play either as Corvo Attano, his father, or Emily herself (who has learned all of her father's tricks in the meantime, though her powers will be slightly different).

Published by Bethesda Softworks just like the first one, it will launch on November 11 worldwide for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the stellar cast of voice actors in our earlier report and the E3 2016 gameplay demonstration in the video below.
