Death Stranding 2 Has Entered “Adjustment Phase”; Voice Acting and Motion Capture Finished

Death Stranding 2 Hideo Kojima

Death Stranding 2 has entered an adjustment phase that will last for roughly one year, according to creator Hideo Kojima.

That's what Kojima said during the most recent episode of his NHK radio show “Hideo Kojima’s Radio: Infinity” (via Famitsu, and picked up by Automaton Media). During the broadcast of the show's second episode, the legendary designer talked about the Death Stranding sequel and revealed that shooting and recording with the cast has been completed. In addition, Kojima mentioned that the game will now enter an adjustment phase, during which he and his team will be refining transitions between scenes and controls, as well as improving the game’s overall clarity and entertainment value.

Death Stranding 2 is slated for a release on PS5 sometime next year. An exact release date has yet to be announced. An exciting new trailer for the game (including the confirmation of the 2025 release window) was released back in January of this year. Interestingly, during the NHK radio show broadcast, Kojima also talked about this trailer, and said that he wanted to show off the game's theme, overall look as well as gameplay. In addition, Kojima said that he wanted to show that the characters are connected to each other. We've included January's trailer, as debuted during PlayStation's State of Play event, below:

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH sees Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker return to Hideo Kojima’s genre defying universe. They will be joined by Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Academy Award-winning film director George Miller.
Hideo Kojima is joined by longtime collaborator Yoji Shinkawa who will direct character and mechanical design, with Ludvig Forssell and Kyle Cooper reprising their roles as musical director and title designer, respectively.

After various rumors, Death Stranding 2 was first teased during The Game Awards 2022. The game is the sequel to 2019's Death Stranding.
