This morning, South Korean developer Pearl Abyss announced that Crimson Desert has now surpassed 5 million copies sold to date across all platforms. The game launched across PC, Mac, and consoles on March 19, so the milestone was reached in less than a month. It's an impressive figure, to be sure, and the pace remains strong. Pearl Abyss had already boasted 3 million units sold in the first week.

Over time, Pearl Abyss has also been addressing some of the launch issues. For example, the game did not even launch on Intel Arc graphics cards at first, prompting the developer to recommend that users request a refund. In the past few days, though, Crimson Desert finally became playable with the latest Intel drivers and even received official support for XeSS 3.0 Frame Generation. Even so, users have reported some visual artifacts, suggesting that there's more work to be done on that front.

Last week, the developer also outlined a detailed post-launch roadmap of improvements coming in the near future to Crimson Desert:

Given the game's strong sales, a premium DLC could happen at some point, though the developer has not confirmed it yet.
