Intel Arc GPUs are finally able to play Crimson Desert after the game developers promised to add support in a future update.

Intel Arc GPUs Can Now Play Crimson Desert, but Expect Some Glitches

Crimson Desert support on Intel Arc GPUs has been a controversial topic. Back when the title launched, the game refused to run on Intel Arc GPUs, giving an error message that the "Graphics device is currently not supported".

The developers of the game, Pearl Abyss, posted in the FAQ that they had no support for Intel Arc GPUs, and Intel quickly responded to this, stating that they were "hugely dissappointed" for lack of support for its Arc GPUs despite the Intel Arc team reaching out to Pearl Abyss many times to test, validate, & offer optimized support for its hardware.

The backlash led the developers of the game to issue a new statement in which they said that support for Intel Arc GPUs was incoming. Now, with the recent Game On "32.0.101.8629 WHQL" graphics driver, Intel Arc GPU owners are finally able to play the game.

Several users on the Intel Arc subreddit have managed to run the game on their Intel Arc GPUs, mainly the Arc B580. Previously, the graphics card was unable to run the game. While this is great news, there are still a few artifacts and glitches in the game, so the experience isn't polished. For example, one user states that the game runs fine and is playable, but there are glitches on the faces of their characters & also some anomalies on the terrain.

Other users report that while they were able to run the game by tuning the settings, enabling AMD FSR will crash the game. The game currently supports NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4. Intel XeSS support is not added to the game. But since the developers are working towards Intel Arc support, we might see XeSS added in future updates.

So yeah, once again, this is good news for owners of Intel Arc GPUs who now have the ability to play Crimson Desert. We look forward to the developers further optimizing the performance and fixing the graphical bugs on Intel Arc GPUs through future patches.
