Today, South Korean developer Pearl Abyss revealed that Crimson Desert has now sold over six million units in less than three months from the game's March 19 launch. Jin-young Heo, CEO of Pearl Abyss, said in a statement:

We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for helping Crimson Desert achieve meaningful success in the global market despite being a new IP. To provide more enjoyable and better experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue moving forward and taking on new challenges.

The open world action/adventure title sold 2 million copies on launch day and exceeded 5 million within a month, ultimately reaching 6 million in just 83 days. Pearl Abyss is all too happy to highlight that this is an unprecedented sales achievement for a single player game developed in Korea. They also cited recent data from U.S. market research firm Circana, which showed Crimson Desert ranked No. 2 in U.S. video game sales year to date in 2026.

This new sales milestone comes as Pearl Abyss continues to enhance the game on a regular basis. A series of content and feature updates will be gradually released from June to September, further boosting Crimson Desert's appeal to both current players and new audiences. These updates will feature story enhancements, new combat elements, cross-save functionality across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, along with various quality-of-life improvements. Recently, PR and Marketing Director Will Powers claimed these patches are basically free marketing for the game.

Pearl Abyss has also announced that downloadable content (DLC) is in the works, with more information to be revealed in the future. For more about Crimson Desert, head to our roundup page.
