[Updated: Possibly Debunked] New Call of Duty 2026 and CoD 2027 Details Possibly Leaked – Rumor

[Update 5/14] According to Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, yesterday's claims about Call of Duty 2026 and 2027 being a new Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, are false.

"According to the “leaks,” Anvil was an Infinity Ward title based on Ghosts, and Devilwood was a Sledgehammer title based on Advanced Warfare", Henderson writes on Insider Gaming. "While I wouldn’t be surprised to see Infinity Ward tackle CoD 2026 and Sledgehammer 2027 (which is the current plan and, to be honest, pretty predictable), it’s understood that the details of the games are not accurate. While things can certainly change, getting codenames wrong in the first place makes me question how the information was obtained and to the extent to which it was verified."

[Original story 5/13] New Call of Duty 2026 and Call of Duty 2027 details might have been leaked by a known leaker.

Although this year's and next year's Call of Duty entries have yet to be officially announced, we might already have some early details on the 2026 and 2027 installments. According to known Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, next year's CoD will be a semi futuristic Black Ops 2 sequel, and as now posted on X by known leaker VISCERAL, Call of Duty 2026 will be a new CoD: Ghosts entry. According to the leaker, this new entry is being developed by Infinity Ward and is currently codenamed "Project Devilwood". In addition, CoD 2027, with codename "Project Anvil", is said to be a new Advanced Warfare title from Sledgehammer Games.

We haven't been able to verify these details, and as such, the information above should be taken with a pinch of salt for now. Since 2015, the Call of Duty series has had a three-year development cycle with Infinity Ward, Treyarch, and Sledgehammer trading off development duties. "This fall's game will be Treyarch's first on the three-year development cycle," Activision Publishing former CEO Eric Hirshberg said about Black Ops III during an earnings call back in 2015. "It will be loaded with innovation, and we're excited to share more details with our community soon."

Last month, the leaker posted some additional details about the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake from Ubisoft. According to the leaker, the remake will feature ray-traced audio, and enemies being able to detect the player based on ray-traced reflections.

More details about this year's Call of Duty entry will likely be revealed in the coming months. Late last year we covered that the game might have a Gulf War setting.

What are your thoughts about this 'leak'? Will Call of Duty 2026 indeed be a new Ghosts entry? And what about CoD 2027? Hit the comments below.
