Destiny 2

There's very little we know about Destiny 2, the second entry in the series developed by Bungie, other than the fact that it's being developed. A new job listing, however, may have provided some hints on how Bungie is planning to change their development approach over their previous game.

Bungie is currently looking for a new Live Narrative Director who will direct the storytelling efforts for regular, small-scale Destiny releases throughout the calendar year. These small-scale projects will apparently be produced somewhat frequently.

As a Narrative Director, you will direct the storytelling efforts for regular, small-scale Destiny releases throughout the calendar year. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of interactive storytelling with strong organizational and leadership skills as well as an ability to work with external partners. A proven record of prioritizing resources against creative goals in a fast-paced release environment is a must.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a story vision that supports the Release Pillars through structure, character, and theme.
- Coordinate with Narrative Discipline Leads to ensure the content meets pre-established franchise narrative goals and supports the Release Pillars.
- Rapidly iterate on small-scale projects on a condensed timeline and ensure successful completion.
- Ensure narrative scope and schedules align with the production plan and are achievable.

Bungie planning to implement some major narrative changes for Destiny 2 was also hinted at by an insider a few months back, who mentioned that changes will be in terms of plot direction, pacing and structure.

Major narrative changes are on board for D2. Both in terms of plot direction, pacing & structure. Major focus is going to be on the Cabal & Saturn. Saturn is a playspace is set to be bigger than all of the playspaces currently implemented in the game combined. This is in large part of the scale of playspaces being redesigned, so it’ll be both bigger & denser with activities. There’s a reason Guardians take the fight to Saturn.

Destiny 2 has yet to be unveiled in full, so there's very little we currently know about the game. We will keep you updated on it as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
