Black Myth: Wukong will receive two DLC expansions before the release of its sequel, according to rumors circulating online.

As revealed by Lunatic Ignus on their Discord server, developer Game Science aims to release two DLC expansions for their first game. What these expansions will focus on hasn't been revealed, but the leaker's source discovered audio files for Buddha, Jade Emperor, and Nezha, who is said to have a bigger role in the studio's next game. According to the leaker, the release of the two expansions makes sense, as Game Science originally wanted Black Myth: Wukong to feature 13 chapters, which were eventually reduced.

The leaker could not say precisely when these DLC expansions will be released, but they did say that they are coming after the Xbox port and physical copies are out. An announcement will likely be made during Summer 2025, possibly on August 20th, which would be the game's first anniversary.

Lunatic Ignus has proven somewhat reliable in the past few months, so there could be some truth in what they have revealed today. Still, as with every rumor, we have to take what has been revealed about Black Myth: Wukong and its sequel, codenamed Black Myth: Jiang Ziya, with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes in, which could take a while, considering the game was released two weeks ago.

Black Myth: Wukong is now available on PC and PlayStation 5 worldwide. The Xbox Series X|S version of the game is currently in the works but is rumored to be delayed indefinitely due to a critical technical issue. You can learn more about the game by checking out my review.
