A night out at a Coldplay concert turned out to be an absolute nightmare experience for Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, because both were caught in a video scandal, with the details read by an estimated 15 million people in the last couple of days. This amount of traction could certainly not have been ignored by Astronomer’s board, who not only reportedly put both individuals on leave, but have issued a statement and launched a formal investigation into the matter.

The latest statement from Astronomer says that its leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability

Being caught on camera was the absolute last thing that Chief Executive Andy Byron and HR chief Kristin Cabot were expecting and there is no point extinguishing the flames because there will be a ton of updates regarding this matter. The latest one has been talked about by Axios, and as mentioned above, both employees have been sent home, likely until the investigation concludes. Astronomer has put out a statement below, along with a post on X.

“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.

The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.

Alyssa Stoddard was not at the event and no other employees were in the video. Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”

It was previously revealed that Byron was already married and was caught with his arms around Cabot. Just a few seconds after their faces appeared on the big screen at the Coldplay concert, the couple hid their faces to avoid discovery, but it was already too late. We have yet to receive confirmation if Astronomer will announce an interim Chief Executive Officer, replacing Byron immediately, or if Cabot will be relieved of her duties. What we do know is that any couple who does not want their face plastered on nearly every media outlet will now keep a low profile.
