The ASRock A88X Chipset based FM2A88X-ITX+ Mini-ITX motherboard has once again been detailed and pictured in all its glory. When ASRock unveiled their A88X Chipset motherboard lineup last month, only two product caught my attention, one was their flagship FM2A88X Extreme6+ motherboard and the other was the FM2A88X-ITX+.

ASRock A88X Chipset Based FM2A88X-ITX+ Mini-ITX Detailed
The A88X "Bolton D4" chipset based ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ is the first Mini-ITX motherboard for the upcoming Kaveri APU which launches in Q4 this year. You can get detailed information regarding the Kaveri APU and its new architecture in our previous article.
The ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+ features the FM2+ socket and equipped with a 4+2 phase supply with gold solid-state capacitors and high quality components to improve power efficiency. It is fitted with two DIMM slots to support a maximum of 32 GB memory capacity with speeds of 2600 MHz (O.C+). Power to the socket is supplied through a 4-Pin connector while the PCH rests beneath a aluminum fin heatsink located next to it.
Storage options include 6 SATA 6 Gbps ports and a PCI-e 3.0 x16 slot for expansion which could be used to support the latest graphic cards and addon cards. FM2A88X-ITX+ also is equipped with a mPCIe slot to support mSATA SSDs or Wi-Fi add-on cards. But ASRock already ships it with a wireless module that provides s Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11n (dual-band). The I/O panel is loaded with 4 USB 2.0, 4 USB 3.0 (Two from internal header), VGA, DVI, Dual HDMI, PS/2, E-SATA, Gigabit ethernet ports and a 7.1 channel audio jack. Sound on the motherboard is powered by the ASRock Purity Sound featuring an ALC1150 codec and also integrates an TI NE5532 Headphone amplifier.
ASRock didn't comment regarding the pricing but considering the AMD's A-Series is a low-cost platform, it will be available to users for a sub-$150 price range. Expect retail availability soon.
