ABC News San Diego reported that Manalo was said to be 18 weeks pregnant, and she noticed that her heart rate was not normal, as it kept on racing consistently. The result on the Apple Watch was clear, and it showed the heartbeat at 150 bpm for more than half an hour and the ECG app advised the user to go see a doctor. When Manalo went to see the doctor, she was diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia, which is a life-threatening condition in which the lower part of the heart is not pumping blood effectively.

Dr. Nguyen, when explaining the condition of Manalo, expressed how serious the heart issue was and how, if it was not dealt with promptly, it could have led to a heart attack.
