It was previously reported that the company is working on a new iOS 17.1.1 update, which, according to the version, will be a minor update. This means that the update will not bring new features to the table and instead house fixes for ongoing issues on the iPhone and iPad. The update was confirmed by MacRumors as evidence was discovered in the publication's analytics logs. Apart from bug fixes, it was also reported that the iOS 17.1.1 release will also focus on security updates.

At this point, it is unclear which bugs will be catered to in the forthcoming update. The company could fix Wi-Fi and connectivity issues with iOS 17.1.1 alongside an issue that shuts down an iPhone overnight, preventing users from receiving notifications in the morning. Apple is also expected to release a fix for the BMW wireless charging issue.

Apple's iOS 17.2 update currently rests in the beta stage, and the second developer beta is imminent. iOS 17.2 will be a significant update in contrast to the iOS 17.1.1 release as the build is discovered to house many front-facing features Apple announced at its WWDC 2023 event. It will also bring the highly anticipated Journal app to the iPhone and iPad.

As mentioned earlier, Apple could also release a new watchOS 10 update alongside iOS 17.1.1. Like iOS 17.1.1, the watchOS 10 update will focus on bug fixes and security updates and will be available on all compatible Apple Watch models. Hints of a new watchOS 10 update were found in an internal memo shared with the Apple Authorized Service Providers.

The Apple Watch is undergoing massive battery drain issues, which Apple will fix in its forthcoming update. The issue is spread out on a wide range of Apple Watch models. However, in its upcoming update, Apple will fix the issue causing the battery to drain on the new Apple Watch models. It is unclear when Apple will release its latest updates this week. The company could potentially release iOS 17.1.1 along with a version of watchOS 10 later today.
