Apple's Self-Service Repair Program allows users to repair their faulty iPhones and Macs on their own. The facility was initially available for a handful of devices but later on, it gained support for additional Apple products. Up until now, Apple's Self-Service Repair Program was not available for the latest iPhone 14 lineup and the M2 Pro and M2 Max MacBook Pro models. Today, the company has announced that it will be expanding support for the self-repair program to the latest models of the iPhone and MacBook Pro.

The Self-Service Repair Program launched last year where the company would send the required parts and tools in a suitcase to users, so they can fix the fault in their device on their own. Take note that you do not get the parts for the Apple product for free as you would have to separately pay for it above the standard price of the toolkit. However, the service is not for everyone.

As mentioned earlier, Apple suggests that the service should be utilized by professionals who have prior knowledge of the devices and the internals. If you are not careful, you can brick any of your devices. Henceforth, you should have experience repairing electronic devices to fully take advantage of the Self-Service Repair Program. Anyone who is not familiar with the internals should stick to visiting their nearest Apple Store for repairs.

Additionally, users can now complete the post-repair System Configuration through the Diagnostics Mode. You will be presented with instructions that you have to follow strictly. This also eliminates the need to contact Apple's support team for the System Configuration process. The process ensures that the parts being replaced are genuine and updates the device to the latest firmware. Furthermore, parts are also calibrated for maximum efficiency.

The company is also making Self-Service Repair Program available for desktop Macs with M1 chips in Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, France, and Belgium. It is great to see that Apple is stretching support for its Self-Service Repair Program to additional regions with expanded support for more parts. As a disclaimer, do not attempt to repair your faulty device if you do not have prior experience. It would be best to leave the repair to the professionals or Authorized Service Providers.
