Apple Releases iOS 11.2.1 Update for iPhone & iPad – Here’s Everything that is New

You can now download the iOS 11.2.1 software update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Here's what is new in this release.

iOS 11.2.1 is Now Available for Download. Update Right Away if You Have an iPhone or iPad

The first ever software update after iOS 11.2 has been released, and is dubbed iOS 11.2.1. On the features front, it does not bring anything new at all to the table. But instead, it patches a bug related to HomeKit. Here's what is new in this update according to the official changelog itself.

iOS 11.4.1 is Now Available for Download – Update Today

Just like any other iOS update, this one's available over the air, as usual. Simply connect your device to a WiFi network, make sure you have more than 50% of battery available, then navigate to Settings > General > Software Update. Give it a few seconds and the update will immediately become available for download. Once it does, tap on the Download and Install button to initiate the download. Once it has downloaded, you can either install the update straight away or postpone it for later. The choice is completely yours.

If you want, you can download the iOS 11.2.1 firmware files straight from Apple's server itself so you can use them to perform a clean restore using iTunes. If that is what you plan to do, then please make sure you have backed up everything using iTunes or iCloud as a clean restore will, obviously, wipe everything off your device. Also make sure that you download the correct IPSW file for your device as a wrong one will fail to restore, forcing you to start all over again. Follow the clean install guide posted here for details on how to install this update: How to Clean Install iOS 11.2.1 on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

It's highly recommended that you install this update right away regardless of the route you end up taking. But since it is a small update, I would recommend going for the over the air route of installing this update.
