iOS 18 brought a slew of new improvements for the iPhone, and developers have been playing around with the new features since the release of the first beta. However, one of the key aspects of the platform is still missing in the latest beta builds, and the company has not given us an exact time frame when it might arrive for developers and public beta testers. Yes, we are talking about Apple AI features and its late entry into the beta cycle. Well, we have an educated estimate of when Apple Intelligence will be released to developers.
Apple Intelligence will be available to developers before the end of next month
Apple Intelligence is the company's answer to the rising AI trend and how it is shaping the industry in profound ways. The feature was confirmed to arrive as a beta at Apple's WWDC event, but the company failed to announce any concrete dates, which roughly leaves us and the developers hanging. The company has recently released the fourth developer beta of iOS 18, and Apple Intelligence is still nowhere in sight, leaving some to speculate that the feature might be further delayed.
However, this is not the case, as Apple has planned the release for summer, despite the fact that it has removed the "Summer" tag from the Apple Intelligence page for developers. This means that developers will be able to test the AI utilities before iOS 18 is released to the general public later this year. Since the company has also started seeding public betas, we can safely presume that Apple Intelligence will be released for both versions of the beta.
Since iOS 18 will be released sometime in September alongside the highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup, we can estimate that Apple Intelligence will be released for the iPhone and other operating systems in August. To be precise, the company will release the utilities before the end of next month. It would be wise for Apple to release Apple Intelligence as soon as possible as it will give developers more time to test the platform and to report back bugs for a stable user experience.
Initially, Apple Intelligence features would only be available in U.S. English, and gradually, the company would expand the list of languages. As for compatibility, Apple stated that only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be able to utilize the feature, which means that all older models will have to stick to the basics. However, the initial rollout of Apple Intelligence will lack some features, which include the new Siri experience. The company will take its time to perfect the technology and complete the rollout next year. We will let you know when Apple Intelligence is available for developers as soon as the new beta version is out.
