Apple updated the original HomePod recently with better internals and minor tweaks in design. The company also sells the HomePod mini, allowing users to make use of Apple's ecosystem at a lower budget. However, the company is working on a new HomePod, which will feature a 7-inch display capable of accomplishing much more than the current models. It is now being reported that Apple will delay the HomePod with an embedded display until next year.
Apple's launch of the rumored HomePod with a 7-Inch Display reportedly delayed until early next year
This is not the first time that we are hearing details on the forthcoming HomePod with major design changes. The device has been rumored for years, and it was initially coined that the smart speaker would feature an arm with an iPad-like display attached for enhanced maneuverability. While the exact design details of the speaker are unknown at this point, reports and rumors have suggested that the HomePod will feature a 7-inch display.
Apple is working on a range of tactics to reduce the cost of operations. Mark Gurman shares in the latest edition of the Power On newsletter that the company is focusing its efforts on major products such as the AR Headset. With that said, the company is potentially planning to delay the launch of the rumored HomePod to next year.

It was previously pointed out by industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that Apple will launch a new HomePod with a display in the first quarter of 2024. The company could be planning to launch its smart HomePod solution to better compete against Amazon's Echo Show. The HomePod with a 7-inch display could come with Apple TV capabilities as well as the ability to make FaceTime calls. This will make the HomePod a desirable product for many as a hub to control compatible smart home devices with visual output for enhanced precision.
As mentioned earlier, Apple is working on a new product lineup that will focus on mixed reality. With major products and projects underway, the company is planning to bring down its expenses due to the rising cost of materials and operations. Since Apple is reluctant to lay off employees, doing so will hurt the company's morale and public perceptions.
Be sure to take the news with a grain of salt since the final word rests with Apple. We will share more details on the rumored HomePod with a display as soon as further information is available.
