ChatGPT is all the hype these days, and OpenAI is constantly working to improve the language model. On the other hand, Apple is far behind with no details on a potential product. While the company is internally working to develop generative AI technology, an analyst said Apple would not announce an AI service next year to match the market.

Analyst suggests Apple's generative AI technology will not launch in 2024 as the competition improves further

In its earnings report, Apple will not share details on AI and the efforts it is making to develop a potential product or service. This is because the company has nothing of value to show at the moment. What this means is that the company does not have any plans to launch a dedicated product or a service based on a generative AI model or integrate the technology into its existing product lineup next year, according to Ming-Chi Kuo.

This is not the first time that we are hearing details on Apple working on a generative AI model. It was previously covered that the company is working on the "Apple GPT" platform based on artificial intelligence. The potential product was reported to rival the likes of ChatGPT, but it seems the company needs more time to come up with a finished product.

ChatGPT has broken various download records on iOS, allowing individuals to use the tool in their day-to-day lives. ChatGPT was recently released on Android, which would have further boosted the user base. OpenAI is using the tool as a source of revenue as well. While ChatGPT 3.5 is free for all platforms, enabled by default, the latest GPT-4 standard or update is only available to subscribers of the service. The language model would continue to improve as Microsoft has heavily invested in the platform.

As far as speculations go, there are a few ways through which Apple can offer its rendition of a generative AI model to users. For one, the company could integrate the technology with Siri, allowing the virtual assistant to offer information way better than it does. Currently, Siri falls behind Google Assistant in terms of contextual references and results. Ahead of Apple's generative AI model, Google has already unveiled Bard. You can access Bard over the web at this point, but it can soon be converted into a dedicated app similar to ChatGPT. Furthermore, Bard could also be integrated with Google Assistant, offering further enhancements to the virtual assistant.
