AMD’s Bulldozer based motherboards featuring 990 and 970 Chipset Leaked
Details and Info on AMD's upcoming motherboards which will support the Bulldozer based Zambezi FX Processors have been leaked. The details show that the boards are manufactured by MSI and include three boards based on the 990, 970 and 950 Series Chipset.
First up is the 990FXA-GD80 which uses the AMD 990FX chipset (Northbridge) and SB950(Southbridge). The board coems equipped with four DDR3 DIMM slots, four PCIe 2.0 x16 slots, two PCIe 2.0 slots and a lone PCI slot. Connectivity ports include two USB 3.0 ports, along with six USB 2.0 ports while internal ports include two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports. The board also includes support for Firewire and six SATA 6Gbps connectors, with RADI 0/1/5/10.
The 990FXA-GD65 has quite similar specs as the 990FXA-GD80 while lacking only two PCI-e x16 slots while including three PCIe 2.0 slots and two PCI slots. Other than that a few overclocking features might be limited on the board as compared to 990FXA-GD80.
Last one is the 970A-G45 which is based on the 970 chipset and SB 950. It comes with two of each PCI-e x16, PCI-e 2.0 and PCI slots. The board includes two external and internal USB 3.0 ports making a total of 4 while including a total of 12 USB 2.0 ports.
No words on pricing or release date has been announced but a recent roadslide by AMD officialy confirmed the release date of its Bulldozer, Llano and Sabine platforms to be launched on Computex 2011. You can learn more here.
