AMD did a much-anticipated comparison of its Radeon RX 9070 XT versus NVIDIA's RTX 5070 Ti, showcasing much better performance per dollar.

AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT vs NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti - $150 US Lower Price For Same Raster & RT Performance, RDNA 4 Better In Some Games

During its AMD Radeon RX 9070 announcements, AMD compared its Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card against the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. Both graphics cards were compared at 4K Ultra settings in a range of titles at both native and raytracing presets and the results look great for Team Red.

Starting with the native performance tested at 4K Ultra, the Radeon RX 9070 XT offers up to double-digit performance in games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Ghost of Tsushima and there are also a few titles where the RX 5070 Ti is faster. In 4K ray tracing without any upscaling, the RX 9070 XT is leading over the 5070 Ti by 8% in Far Cry 6 and 2% in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The RTX 5070 Ti leads most ray-traced titles, with Cyberpunk 2077 seeing the biggest lead for Team Green. Overall, the RX 9070 XT is just 2% slower than the 5070 Ti across 30+ games while being $150 US cheaper and offering the same amount of VRAM.

AMD also says that its custom OC designs offered by AIBs offer up to 340W TBP, a 12% bump over the reference 304W spec. These models can end up offering 2% better performance versus the RTX 5070 Ti across the same set of games. These models will come at a premium, but we can still expect much lower price points than whatever the 5070 Ti is selling for. We haven't seen the 5070 Ti being sold at MSRP at major retailers and the prices range between $900-$1000+ US.

Lastly, we have the price to performance comparison and here, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is said to offer a phenomenal 23% higher performance per dollar value versus the RTX 5070 Ti. Once again, the 5070 Ti is being compared at its MSRP which as we mentioned above is no where close to reality and the card actually retails for much higher.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti does support advanced RTX features and DLSS 4 MFG (Multi-Frame Generation) along with a tad bit better raytracing capabilities, but with the Radeon RX 9070 XT, AMD is showcasing some competitive performance, and it should end up being a phenomenal solution for gamers who are looking to buy a new graphics card in the coming months.
