AOOSTAR has unveiled its latest Mini-ITX MoDT motherboard featuring AMD's Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU with 3D V-Cache.

After launching its mATX offering, AOOSTAR has now unveiled its brand new MoDT motherboard design, which comes in a Mini-ITX form factor and features the high-performance AMD Ryzen 9 9955X3D CPU.
The new entry features the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU, which is part of the "Fire Range" mobile series. This chip features 16 cores and 32 threads with a max boost clock of up to 5.4 GHz, 144 MB of cache in a single 3D V-Cache boosted CCD, and a base TDP of 54W, which can be configured up to 75W or higher in these MoDT designs (Up To 135W). The chip is designed for laptops but has seen entry into Mini PCs and MoDT mobile motherboards.
In terms of performance, the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D is positioned against the Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX, and offers up to 44% higher performance in games:

As for the motherboard itself, the AOOSTAR Mini-ITX MoDT (Mobile on Desktop) design features an 8-phase power supply, two DDR5 DIMM slots with up to 128 GB capacity support, and up to 5600 MT/s of frequencies. Expansion includes a single PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slots. IO includes dual 10GbE LAN ports, four USB ports, and a USB Type-C port. Other IO includes four SATA III ports.
The motherboard comes with a black and silver design, and the CPU socket is powered by a single 8-pin EPS connector. There are heatsinks over the VRM (IO Panel) and the X870M PCH. The CPU is also covered by a large heat spreader, which sits on top of the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D CPU and makes direct contact with an AM5/AM4-compatible CPU heatsink.
In terms of pricing, the AOOSTAR Mini-ITX MoDT with the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D is expected to be priced around $500 US, which should make it a decent option since buying the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and a Mini-ITX motherboard separately should end up near $800-$900 US. Plus, the higher energy efficiency of the mobile chip makes it ideal for gaming-intensive purposes.
