AOOSTAR has introduced the world's first MoTD motherboards featuring the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D & 9955HX "Zen 5" CPUs.
MoTD Motherboards Now Equipped With AMD's Top-of-the-Line Ryzen 9 9955HX3D & Ryzen 9 9955HX CPUs: Up To 16 "Zen 5" CPU Cores, and Massive 128 MB Cache
MoTD motherboards are becoming ever popular, given the best price/performance value that they tend to offer. There are many motherboard vendors these days that offer such motherboards, but it looks like China-based AOOSTAR has taken the lead with its new offering.
AOOSTAR has announced its latest M-ATX MoTD motherboard, which comes with two CPU options: the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D & Ryzen 9 9955HX. Both of these CPUs are aimed at enthusiast mobile devices such as laptops. And feature the Zen 5 core architecture. The chips feature 16 cores, 32 threads, up to 5.4 GHz clock speeds, and TDPs of 55W, which can be configured up to 75W. The standard variant comes with 64 MB of L3 cache, while the X3D variant doubles that with 64 MB of 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache stack beneath a single CCD.

As for the motherboard itself, it features a solid black/white aesthetic and adopts a 10-phase VRM for power delivery. The motherboard comes outfitted with VRM and M.2 heatsinks. There is a single full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for GPUs, plus an additional PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. M.2 slots include two Gen5 x4 for NVMe storage, and the motherboard itself supports two standard DDR5 UDIMMs with up to 128 GB of total capacity.
The CPU comes pre-attached with a vapor-chamber baseplate, which is used as the IHS cover. The board uses the standard AM5 retention slot, so it will easily support a countless number of coolers/heatsinks. The motherboard is powered by a single 8-pin connector and houses 2 SATA III ports along with various fan headers. IO is said to include 7.1 channel support along with a range of USB ports.

In terms of pricing, the AOOSTAR AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D MoTD motherboard is priced at 4799 RMB or close to $650 US, while the 9955HX MoTD motherboard is priced at 3799 RMB or $500 US.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D costs $700 US, so you are getting a motherboard plus a CPU for $50 less. The standard variant costs $100 US less than the desktop 9950X and features similar specs. So that's quite the value you're getting with these MoTD options. AOOSTAR is expected to share more details on these motherboards soon, as they are about to go on sale. Minisforum also teased its Ryzen 9 9955HX MoTD based around the X870M chipset a while back, but they haven't released more info in regards to availability.
