AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB GPU is witnessing price cuts across global markets with drops below $600 US in certain regions.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE GPUs Fall Below MSRP In China & Europe, $150 US Below Chinese MSRP

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB GPU is an unusual launch. Despite clearly being labeled as a China-specific launch but during launch, it not only got listed with a US MSRP but also saw limited channel availability in the European markets. The availability was initially limited to integrators who offered pre-built PCs with the card but was later extended to a DIY release.

Now, the card is beginning to see some major price cuts which happen to be due to regional pricing changes and promotional deals. In China, the XFX Radeon RX 7900 GRE graphics card is listed for 4179 RMB or $573 US. For comparison, the official MSRP for the card is 5299 RMB in China & $649 in the US. So this marks a -1120 RMB ($153 US) drop which is quite big. The deal is part of the 11.11 sale in China and should last a few days.

Meanwhile, the same XFX variant of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE GPU has reached pricing as low as 616 Euros in Italy. The same model was previously sold for close to 700 Euros so that's also a big drop right there. The pricing of AMD's Radeon RX 7900 GRE now ends up being super close to the Radeon RX 7800 XT which costs around 540-570 Euros. The GRE definitely is the better card with a larger number of cores offered through the Nave 31 chip.

The price drops might just be promotional but NVIDIA also plans to introduce its GeForce RTX 40 "SUPER" GPUs soon so this might be a preparation to make Radeon RX 7000 more competitive vs those. The RTX 4070 SUPER series might prompt a price reduction for the existing RTX 4070 lineup which competes with the RX 7800 XT & RX 7900 GRE graphics cards.
