Pictures of AMD's second 28nm HD7900 Series Graphic Card "Radeon HD7950" have been leaked by OBR. The pictures show the reference design of the Radeon HD7950 (Tahiti Pro) which would feature a New Cooling design and a different PCB.
Unlike the HD7970's Blower Fan, The HD7950 would use a larger fan placed in the center which would supply the interior Liquid Chamber heatsink and power components with fresh air, The PCB would be colored black along with minor adjustments, Display outputs consist of 1 x DVI, 1 x HDMI and 2 Mini Display Ports.
The Radeon HD7950 would pack 1792 Stream Processors, 32ROP’s, GPU Core Clock is maintained at 800Mhz and Memory runs at 1250Mhz (5Ghz Effective). Memory would consist of a 3GB GDDR5 (384-bit) Buffer. OBR has also confirmed that the card unlike the Radeon HD6950 cannot be unlocked.
Launch is expected on 31st January 2012. The 3GB Variant would cost $449 and 1.5GB variant would be available for $399 US. 3DMark 11 Benchmarks below:
