Radeon RX 9060 is pretty much a nerfed RX 9060 XT, bringing slightly fewer shaders, slower memory speed and also lower power consumption.
AMD Unveils Radeon RX 9060, Featuring 1792 SPs, 18 Gbps 8 GB GDDR6 Memory, and 132W TDP; Claims 100+ FPS in Multiple Triple-A Titles at Native 1080p Ultra
It appears that AMD sent incorrect details to its board partners, which suggested 2048 Stream Processors for the Radeon RX 9060 (non-XT). With the silent unveiling of the new NAVI 44 GPU, it's clear from AMD's official website that the RX 9060 will feature 1792 Stream Processors or 28 Compute Units instead of 32. This means it will be noticeably slower than the RX 9060 XT GPU, and as per other specs, there are some more minor downgrades as well.
The first one is the memory speed, which is capped at 18 Gbps out of the box, but the memory configuration remains the same at 8 GB GDDR6 with a 128-bit memory bus interface. The bandwidth is therefore reduced to 288 GB/s. The RX 9060 also has fewer Ray and AI Accelerators than the XT variant, which means slightly slower Ray Tracing and AI workload processing.
Nonetheless, the GPU is also going to be more power-efficient as a result, bringing a TDP of 132W, which is why AMD recommends a 450W PSU. Thankfully, all the GPU supports all the latest technologies and support most rendering formats, including AV1 Encoding and Decoding. We don't think AMD will launch the reference design as shown on the website, and it will be available through AIBs in custom editions, bringing modern display output ports such as DP 2.1a and HDMI 2.1b.
As far as performance goes, RX 9060 received a special advertisement on the page, suggesting its performance numbers in different titles at 1080p native ultra settings. It can supposedly run the latest triple-A titles like AC: Mirage, COD: Black Ops 6, God of War: Ragnarok, and others are 100+ FPS easily. Of course, you should take these numbers with some caution because we don't know what configuration AMD used for these tests, and the exact graphical presets it used.
The Radeon RX 9060 XT 8 GB is able to deliver 100-120 FPS in God of War: Ragnarok with Ryzen 9800X3D at native 1080p ultra settings. So, the numbers may be exaggerated. The Radeon RX 9060 GPU has been offered support ahead of the release in the latest AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.8.1, which users can download from the website.
