Imagine getting NVIDIA's RTX 5090 at a significantly discounted price below MSRP. Well, a Redditor has actually managed to do just that, courtesy of Walmart's clearance sale.

NVIDIA's RTX 5090 Isn't Avaliable In Retail These Days, But Someone Got It With a Massive 35% Discount

Obtaining GPUs in this day and age, especially at MSRPs, is becoming increasingly difficult, considering that demand is increasing and the supply chain lacks sufficient units to meet prices at their 'deserved' levels. However, many fellow Redditors and gamers over the internet have managed to snag up amazing deals over time, but the one we are reporting right now probably ranks as one of the best ones, as a buyer managed to grab PNY's GeForce RTX 5090 for just $1,400, which is way below the original MSRP, and probably a 'mind-boggling' deal for the flagship NVIDIA GPU.

This represents a discount of almost 35%, which is unlikely to occur in typical retail instances, except during a Walmart clearance sale. Let's talk a bit about how the clearance sale works, since it's unimaginable for an 'informed' retailer to see the RTX 5090 at $1,400. Well, the price slash usually happens after an inventory review, where items that are not performing well see a discount, but in the case of GPUs like the RTX 5090, the best probable case here was that an 'unopened' GPU arrived in the return section, which was later put up at a heavily discounted price, without seeing the actual product value.

There are several other reasons why the GPU ended up at such a price, but we won't go into them. The Redditor claims that he will use the RTX 5090 to upgrade over the RTX 5080, which is also interesting, considering that the user got the flagship NVIDIA GPU for almost the same price as his previous model, so the deal only gets better for him. Redditors have a remarkably enthusiastic reaction to the discount deal, but proceed with caution in the comment section.

If you are a bit 'envied' by the deal, you shouldn't worry, as there's a great PC deals season ongoing, and we are covering amazing discounts out there, such as the RX 9070 XT retailing for $629. Make sure to check out our Deals section to ensure that you never miss out on the opportunity.
