A Few Weeks After Its Launch, Pixel 9 Pro XL Users Are Complaining Of Camera Tilt Issues, Ruining The Zoom Experience

The Pixel 9 series have been getting a lot of hype even before it was launched, and at the Made by Google event 2024, it was in the limelight for the new design and features incorporated this time around. Its camera layout was also being highly talked about, and with the lineup finally coming out, users have been trying to get their hands on the devices. While many users have expressed admiration for the upgrades, some buyers ended up having an unpleasant experience as issues with camera tilt popped up.

The Pixel 9 lineup was unveiled on August 13th and has harnessed quite the attention. The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL hit the stores on August 22nd, and users have been sharing their experiences on Reddit about the new model. While many users left positive reviews, some also shared an issue with the Pixel 9 Pro XL's telephoto lens and the camera experience not being smooth.

The Redditors shared that they first spotted the problem when recording a video and noticing a "disturbing tilt". The issue was more evident when zoom was adjusted from 2x to 5x. The user went ahead with displaying the proof of the defect in a video, utilizing the zoom option in the telephoto lens of the XL model and experiencing the tilt problem.

While we would like to believe that this was an issue faced by a particular user and not widespread, many users have claimed in the same post about having to deal with a similar issue and expressed that the problem is not limited to the telephoto lens and can be noticed when using the ultrawide lens as well. Some shared that the problem comes and goes and is not consistently there and even went on sharing fixes, such as manually selecting the lens for the issue to be resolved.

These issues generally do come up when a product is newly launched and usually handled by the company. While the problem does not affect the masses and is limited in scope, Google has yet to give any statement on the given claims. We are not certain if a software update will fix the issue or if the hardware is at fault. In that case, Google might have to compensate affected users with a replacement or their money back.
