The launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus leaves only a handful of devices left for launch this year. After we get to see the Google Pixel and Pixel XL next month, the flagship cycle for 2016 should be officially over. But even though there are still three months remaining until 2017, that hasn’t stopped rumors surfacing about devices expected next year. One of these devices is the Samsung Galaxy S8, which has seen several bits of information surfacing so far. Today, yet another piece in the puzzle has become available. Take a look below to find out more.

Samsung’s Galaxy S8 To Feature Dual Edged Screen Only With Two Variants Claims Korean Media

As a company, Samsung’s always been about hardware specifications on its devices. Prior to the Galaxy S6, the company’s primary focus had been on specs, with its devices consistently topping the industry. With the Galaxy S6, and the Note 4 later on, we saw a shift towards design and aesthetics. The Note 4 Edge in particular came with a singular edged screen, which allowed users to interact in new and improved ways with the device.

The Galaxy S7 Edge came with a dual edged screen, and ever since Samsung’s launched the feature, we’ve seen user interest rise in the company’s offerings. To that end, it’s been the Edge lineup that’s been more popular, and looks like Samsung’s finally ready to fully capitalize on this. Some new information has surfaced in the Korean media for the Samsung Galaxy S8. According to sources, the company will only launch the Edged variant this time around, with two screen sizes.

Today’s reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come in screen sizes of 5.1 and 5.5 inches. The Koreaherald claims that the company’s mobile division has started to place orders for the panels from its display division. We’ve heard similar rumors for the Galaxy S8 previously as well. Sources have suggested that the flagship will feature increased screen radians as well. These will create more space for user interaction and usability.

Other leaks/rumors for the Galaxy S8 suggest that the flagship will feature a dual camera and an Iris scanner. Samsung debuted the latter with the Note 7 last month, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the feature surface on the Galaxy S8 as well. The phone is also rumored to feature the Exynos 8895, 6GB of RAM and a 4K AMOLED display. Give that there’s still a lot of time until the device is potentially launched, more information will surface soon. Till then, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
