Microsoft has started to release Windows 10 1909 Insider Preview Build 18362.10022 (19H2) to Insiders in the Slow ring. Today's build includes the improvements and fixes from KB4515384 along with "improvements to the overall quality of 19H2," the company writes.

KB4515384 is the update that was delivered to Windows 10 May 2019 Update on September 10 and brought in several security fixes. As a reminder, Microsoft will deliver Windows 10 1909 as a cumulative update later this year. Both the Windows 10 May 2019 Update and the upcoming October 2019 Update share the same servicing content, which means they share the same Cumulative Update package.

Microsoft had added that as it continues to test its "servicing packages in the Release Preview ring, Insiders on 19H1 and 19H2 will get a single Cumulative Update with the same fixes." Yep, more confusion in the Windows update world.

Here is the changelog of KB4515384 that comes with Windows 10 1909 Build 18362.10022 (19H2):

  • Provides protections against a new subclass of speculative execution side-channel vulnerabilities, known as Microarchitectural Data Sampling, for 32-Bit (x86) versions of Windows (CVE-2019-11091, CVE-2018-12126CVE-2018-12127CVE-2018-12130). Use the registry settings as described in the Windows Client and Windows Server articles(These registry settings are enabled by default for Windows Client OS editions and Windows Server OS editions.)
  • Addresses an issue that causes high CPU usage from SearchUI.exe for a small number of users. This issue only occurs on devices that have disabled searching the web using Windows Desktop Search.
