Wii U Firmware Update 5.5.4 Released by Nintendo; Offers Further System Stability Improvements

After last year’s firmware update, Nintendo has now released Wii U firmware update 5.5.4 which once again offers general system stability improvements.

Wii U system update 5.5.3 was released back in September of last year and while many thought the system to be somewhat dead, Nintendo has now released a new system update.

The release notes for this firmware update only mention improved general system stability, but its likely that Nintendo has released this update to battle homebrew on the Switch predecessor.

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

The Wii U was released back in 2012 as successor to the Wii. Nintendo formally announced the end of its global production on January 31, 2017.
