The AMD Radeon RX 9000 GPUs based on the RDNA 4 core architecture are highly anticipated, and we are just a few hours away from the full disclosure of their specs, price, and performance. AMD is set to host its "All You Need for Gaming" showcase where they will be unveiling full information, and also announcing the availability of these next-gen gaming solutions.

The AMD Radeon RX 9000 GPUs will be split into two segments: the Radeon RX 9070 series (9070 XT & 9070) based on the Navi 48 core architecture and the Radeon RX 9060 series (9060 XT & 9060) based on the Navi 44 core architecture. These GPUs are said to be offered at competitive price points against NVIDIA's offerings, mainly the RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 series, as the company had to revise its naming convention to match its competition.

As for what to expect, AMD has officially confirmed that the RDNA 4 "Radeon RX 9000" GPUs will be fabricated on the 4nm process node and feature 2nd Gen AI accelerators, 3rd Gen Raytracing cores, and 2nd Gen AMD Radiance Display Engine. The chips will also come with optimized compute units, improved ray tracing performance per compute unit, and better media encoding quality.

Based on what we know so far, the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT will feature 64 compute units or 4096 cores with 16 GB GDDR6 memory and a TBP of 304W, while the Radeon RX 9070 will feature 56 CUs or 3584 cores with the same 16 GB GDDR6 memory and a 220W TBP. Both of these cards will offer very high clock speeds with the XT model reaching up to 3 GHz.

As per AMD, the pricing information out right now is not true, and we can expect very competitive price points in the $600-$700 US range. The performance is also expected to be around RTX 4080 levels for the XT variant, while offering much higher RT capabilities than the existing Radeon 7000 lineup. AMD has also clarified that there may not be a reference "MBA" model this time around and the focus might solely be on AIB models, with several already being revealed since CES 2025. Some of these models will feature 16-pin connectors while others will stick with the standard 8-pin power approach.

There are also rumors of a 32 GB variant in the works, which will be aimed at AI workloads, which the Red team has debunked, but other sources state that it is still in the works. So, with that said, we look forward to what AMD has in store for gamers, and it's definitely going to be an interesting launch.
