We've known it was happening for a while, but today the Ubisoft+ subscription service officially launches on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. For those unaware, Ubisoft+ is essentially the publisher's own version of Game Pass, offering a back catalog of titles and access to premium editions of new games on Day 1 for a monthly fee. It should be noted, unlike EA Play, Ubisoft+ is not being offered as part of a Game Pass Ultimate subscription. You’ll need to sign up separately in order to play on Xbox. Ubisoft’s senior vice president of strategic partnerships Chris Early had the following to say about the service making the jump to Xbox…

“Partnering with Xbox to launch Ubisoft+ Multi Access on Xbox consoles enhances our subscription offering to provide more value and choice to our players. Xbox console players now have access to our worlds through Ubisoft’s extensive game library.”

Xbox owners will have access to a library of over 60 Ubisoft games, including major titles like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, and Rainbow Six Siege. Subscribers also get 10 percent off on in-game currencies. You can check out the full list of games available on Xbox here. And again, you’ll be able to jump into big games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Assassin’s Creed Mirage when they arrive.

In order to play Ubisoft+ on Xbox, you’ll need to sign up for an $18 “Multi-Access” subscription. That’s slightly more expensive than a standard $15 PC subscription, but it allows you to play games on PC, Xbox, and Amazon’s Luna cloud gaming service.

Is there going to be an audience for Ubisoft+ on Xbox, particularly with Game Pass acting as a competitor (and playing host of many Ubisoft games itself)? The $18 asking price is certainly a bit hefty, but hey, I could see signing up for a few months when the new Assassin’s Creed comes out.

Ubisoft+ is now available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. As of now, there's no word on when the service may arrive on PlayStation, but Ubisoft did promise they'd bring it to Sony's consoles in the past.
