The PlayStation 5 Pro is, on paper, the most powerful console available on the market, but there have been times when the system disappointed, especially in some titles at launch. With the upgraded PSSR 2.0 upscaler, however, the situation has been steadily improving, and with Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, the system delivers Quality-mode level visuals complete with ray tracing at 60 FPS in its Performance Mode.
The high quality PlayStation 5 Pro support Ubisoft delivered in the remake of the fourth entry in the series is showcased by a new comparison video put together by ElAnalistaDeBits, which puts every version of the game in every one of the three display modes - Quality, Balanced and Performance, running side-by-side.
"The PS5 Pro maintains a visual quality similar to the PS5/XSX Quality Mode in its Performance Mode. It’s one of those games where you’ll definitely notice the difference on the Pro console," wrote the YouTuber, and the video comparison definitely confirms this, as the system handles Quality mode-level visuals with ray tracing extremely well, reaffirming how it is the system to get to enjoy console gaming at its best, although the latest price increases have made it a significantly less enticing purchase for many gamers.
The video shared by ElAnalistaDeBits also confirms how Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is a well-optimized game, something I immediately noticed when I started playing the game last week to write the guides you can find in our Complete Walktrough and Guides Hub. Without having to tweak settings too much, I had no trouble running the game at 120 FPS with NVIDIA DLSS at 4K resolution on my system (i7-13700F, RTX 4080, 32GB RAM). Still, if you're looking to optimize your settings to achieve the best balance between image quality and performance, you should definitely check out our Performance Guide.
Besides delivering a solid experience on all formats, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced is one of the best entries in the series in a long time, which isn't surprisng considering it's an extremely faithful remake of one of the most appreciated Assassin's Creed games to date. As such, it's not surprising to see how fans have been showing up in droves, as the game is set to soundly outsell Assassin's Creed Shadows in a very short amount of time.
