Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the remake of the first entry in the series, was among the many games scheduled for release in 2026 but, just as an earlier leak revealed, the return of Lara Croft has Fableen delayed to 2027, as confirmed by a new trailer shown during today's State of Play presentation.

Besides confirming the February 12, 2027 release date, the new trailer provided an extended look at the remake. Captured on PlayStation 5 Pro, the new footage also delivered a look at some of the game's most iconic sequences, including the T-Rex chase sequence, which has never looked better.

Although disappointing, especially after the support studio reaffirmed the 2026 release window last month, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis's delay to early 2027 is not particularly surprising. With September 2026 packed with high-profile releases, there was no way for the game to launch without competing with Grand Theft Auto 6, which is set to monopolize the entire gaming industry when it launches in November 2026. The highly anticipated Fable suffered a similar fate and will also launch in February 2027.
