Vivo has just launched the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro, which are among the best foldable phones we have seen. Aside from a slimmed-down design, the new phones bring a number of improvements in terms of hardware, so if you are looking for a new foldable phone, this is something that you might be interested in.

The Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro take the throne away from the Galaxy Z Fold 5

For starters, the Vivo X Fold 3 weighs just 219 grams, which makes it the lightest book-style foldable phone in the market. It is also lighter than several other standard phones, which is impressive, to say the least. The phone is also thin at just 10.2mm, making it one of the thinnest foldable phones available today.

Although there are differences between the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro, the display remains the same on both devices. The inner screen is an 8.03-inch diagonal panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Samsung's E7 material, which allows you to see as bright as 4,500 nits of local peak brightness. The cover display is a 6.53-inch with a 120Hz refresh rate; this one also goes as high as 4,500 nits, which is impressive for both a foldable phone and a standard phone, for that matter.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with a custom imaging chip. The phone is available in 16/512GB and 16GB/1TB configurations, with LPPDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. On the back, you get a 50-megapixel ultra-sensing main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

If you don't want to spend the extra money, you can get the more affordable Vivo X Fold 3, which comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It is available in a 12/256GB or 16GB/1TB configuration. The camera system is the same, but you are missing the V3 imaging chip.

Both the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro also have a lightweight carbon fiber hinge that is just 14.98 grams. The company claims that the hinge is certified to withstand 500,000 folds, and this certification was obtained by TÜV Rhinenland. The phones also offer excellent drop resistance and even have an impact-resistant film, aside from the UTG that you can find on the screen.

The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro comes with IPX8 water resistance, with the base model only offering IPX4 water resistance. The Pro variant also has a massive 5,700 mAh battery, and the base model comes with a slightly smaller 5,500 mAh battery. The former charges at 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, with the base variant charging at 80W wired charging, with no support for wireless charging.

Vivo has made sure that the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro are packed to the brim with all the latest tech that you can imagine. I am talking about Wi-Fi 7, NFC, IR Blaster, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 on the Pro variant. Stereo speakers, Wireless, Lossless Hi-Fi audio, musical mute switches. The Pro variant also comes with two 3D ultrasonic fingerprint readers. Goodix supplies the touch controller on both displays and audio amps. The controllers are able to sense wet fingers, making the whole process of using your phone a lot better.

The company has not shared the price and availability for the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro at the moment, but we are going to be sure to keep you posted. as soon as we learn. It is safe to say that these are two of the most impressive foldable phones that we have seen in the market.
