FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods has been missing in action since its announcement during last year's Nintendo Switch 2 event. Although publisher Kadokawa has reiterated multiple times that the game will not miss its 2026 release window, many feared it would. Although we do not know when the next game from the celebrated developer of Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series is hitting the Nintendo Switch 2, the first taste of the experience is coming before the end of the year.
With a new trailer shown during today's Nintendo Direct, it's confirmed that The Duskbloods closed beta test will be held this Summer. The trailer also provided a quick fresh look at the game's visuals, which looked considerably sharp, more than one would expect to see on the Nintendo Switch 2. Sadly, no new look at the gameplay was provided, so it may be some more time until we see more of an experience FromSoftware is said to have spent the most time on, even more than Elden Ring's.
The Duskbloods launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, with a closed network test coming soon. Step into this new PvPvE multiplayer action game from FromSoftware, where you take on the role of a Bloodsworn.
Fight through a world overrun with enemies using unique weapons and abilities, while occasionally forming transient alliances on your path to victory.
The lack of a release date and more concrete details is definitely concerning, and with the September/ October release schedule filling up, there's now a concrete possibility that The Duskbloods could be delayed to 2027. Hopefully, more details on how the game (which shows how much FromSoftware values its independence against pressure to develop safe sequels) will play and when it will launch will be revealed soon.
