Qualcomm introduced the mighty impressive Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 yesterday, and it quickly became one of the best chipsets on the market. The company basically launched it as a contemporary of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, but for phones that are not going to bring a massive price tag, both chipsets don't even have many differences. Now, we have a list of phones that will be utilizing this chipset, and one thing is for sure: Qualcomm is targeting a specific type of consumer.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is going to be a budget king with great performance and a focus on AI
A new report suggests that phones from Xiaomi, IQOO, Realme, and Honor are confirmed to use the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. As you can tell by just looking at the names, these OEMs offer budget-oriented devices that are just trickled-down versions of their flagship phones and are known to offer a stellar price-to-performance ratio. So, I am not surprised that this chipset is going to find its way into these devices.
The upcoming Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is going to feature the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The same goes for the IQOO Z9. As far as Realme, Honor, and Redmi are concerned, we are still not sure what their devices will be, so we will have to wait and see. The one thing that is evident from this reveal is that the new chipset will be mostly focused on phones that will be released in the Asian regions where people are normally looking to opt for more affordable devices.
The new chipset is a really compelling CPU. It is fabricated using the same 4nm process as its elder brother. The chipset will also deliver on AI, and although there are differences between both processors, we have a feeling that in terms of performance, it will not impair the overall user experience.
As far as companies like Samsung and OnePlus are concerned, we are still not sure if we are going to see the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in those phones, but considering this is a tech world where nothing is hidden, we will get more information soon.
Will you be okay with buying a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, or will you stick to the more expensive Snapdragon 8 Gen 3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
