Tesla Has a Second-Generation Roadster That Can Go From 0-100MPH in Just Over 4 Seconds
When Elon Musk was teasing a huge surprise, it would have been very difficult to predict what was going to come from the billionaire innovator. Now, the CEO of Tesla has unveiled the company’s second-generation Roadster and to say that the car is fast would be an understatement.
Tesla Roadster Can Do 0-60MPH in 1.9 Seconds - Musk Claims That It Is the First Car in Production to Be Able to do This
According to the CEO, the Tesla Roadster is capable of going from 0 to 60MPH in 1.9 seconds. While the tests are definitely going to be carried out to see if the vehicle is this fast, if this fact holds true, then it will mean one thing. This will be the first time that a production vehicle would have reached this milestone under the two-second time limit.
“It’ll be faster than that jet over there.”
During the unveiling, Musk did not state what the top speed of the car was but hinted that it was above 250 miles per hour. On the company’s official landing page of the Tesla Roadster, it is also detailed that the Roadster will be capable of going above the 250MPH limit. If you’re looking for a comparison, then the Agera RS by Sweden’s stellar car manufacturer Koenigsegg currently holds the world record at 277MPH.
Now coming to what is present inside the car, Musk states that it sports a massive 200kWh battery pack and a 620-mile range per charge. If you’re looking for kilometers, it would be converted into a 1,000+ KM. You could practically travel from city to city in this driving range but let us hope that you are able to find a compatible Tesla charging station in close proximity.
The vehicle also sports three motors, where one is present in the front, while two are present at the rear for an all-wheel drive, plus torque steering. If you want to reserve one then you can click on the link here, but there are a few details you need to be made aware of first, which have been given below.
“Founders Series Roadster reservations require an initial $5,000 credit card payment, plus a $245,000 wire transfer payment due in 10 days. Reservations are not final until the wire transfer payment is received.”
If you’re able to provide this much money, then you’ll be the proud owner of a Tesla Roadster.
