A new Starfield beta patch is now live on PC, introducing performance and lighting improvements and much more.

The main addition of the 1.14.68 patch in terms of features is a new Creation Kit feature, an automated process for creating models for distant LOD. The new beta patch also brings quite a bit in terms of improvements and fixes, such as general performance and stability improvements, lighting enhancements throughout the game, visual improvements for weapon models, improved player head tracking when exiting dialogue, and more.

The new Starfield patch also brings some gameplay, quests, locations, ships, vehicle, UI and audio fixes and improvements. You can find the full patch notes here.

Starfield is about to receive the Shattered Space expansion, which promises to enhance the experience considerably with new handcrafted locations, a new engaging storyline, improvements to close-range combat, and more. You can check out a deep dive into what the expansion will offer by going here.

Starfield is now available on PC, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. You can learn more about Bethesda's latest game by checking out my review.

With an engaging story, well-developed characters and lore, and a huge amount of meaningful content, Starfield is one of Bethesda's finest games and one of the best role-playing games released in the past few years. The lack of seamless exploration and real innovation of the typical gameplay formula from the studio are noteworthy, but those willing to forego these issues will find a reactive and sprawling sci-fi universe to lose themselves in for hundreds, if not thousands, of hours.
