[Update] A few hours after teasing that Respawn is working on a Star Wars single-player experience that a lot of people have wanted for some time, Tom Henderson confirmed that it is a first-person Mandalorian game where players will take on the role of a Mandalorian bounty hunter when the galaxy was still ruled by the Empire.

Thanks to a jetpack, players will be able to dash, jump, and boost slide in a very fast-paced experience that will reward style. For example, health will be restored based on successive kills. Among the weapons and combat tools will be a wrist rocket, grapple hook, a visor for tagging bounties and enemies, and more. Lastly, the game will feature a collection of linear levels set on different planets in the Star Wars universe.

As for when the game will be released, Tom Henderson only mentioned that it is at least a year or two away, so it may be some time until we will be able to see if Respawn will manage to capture the spirit of the Mandalorian bounty hunters with their game.

[Original Story] One of the Star Wars games in development by Respawn Entertainment is a single-player experience that a lot of people have wanted for a long time.

Well-known insider Tom Henderson talked about this game on X/Twitter in response to someone mentioning a third entry in the Battlefront series that is most likely never coming out. The insider added that there will be a full report on the matter only after some details are finalized, so we have no idea what this game will be about.

Following the insider's tweet, speculation has been going rampant regarding this Star Wars single-player game. Seeing as the second entry in the Jedi series was only released last year, it is likely the insider was not talking about its follow-up, but about the single-player shooter said to be inspired by the Jedi Knight series. Still, fans are speculating it could be a new entry in beloved series like Jedi Academy, The Force Unleashed, and even Knights of the Old Republic. A "The Mandalorian" game would be a safe choice that could definitely be well received as well, considering the immense popularity of Grogu, a.k.a. Baby Yoda.

While Respawn Entertainment is working on its Star Wars project that will releases in the coming years, fans of the franchise still have something to look forward to, as Ubisoft Massive's Star Wars Outlaws will launch later this year, an open-world game set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi where players will follow Kay Vess as she becomes the galaxy's most wanted.
