Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received its latest patch, patch 4, this week on all formats, bringing a variety of fixes to consoles and performance improvements on PC. The patch was also supposed to address traversal stuttering issues on PC, but it definitely looks like this hasn't been done in any significant way.

Judging from multiple comparison videos captured on different system configurations, patch 4 does bring some performance improvements, as average FPS is generally higher than before in areas that did not run particularly well, such as Coruscant and Koboh, but frame times continue to be extremely uneven, no matter the resolution, settings, and system configuration. When a powerful GPU like a 4080 still isn't capable of running the game smoothly, as seen in MxBenchmarkPC's video, it's clear that it will be a while longer until Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is properly fixed.

Lootward's comparison video represents well the experience I am having with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on my machine, which is also powered by an RTX 3070 GPU. Despite the technical issues, I am enjoying the game quite a lot, thanks to the many enhancements to the formula seen in its predecessor highlighted by Kai in his review of the PlayStation 5 version of the game.

While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a surprise journey when it was first released, the time spent apart hasn’t made Cal Kestis’ adventures any less enjoyable. A similar framework in unfamiliar territories helps to establish Jedi: Survivor as a quality sequel to the original release. Jedi: Survivor still plays it safe in comparison to the prior game. It may be difficult to give Jedi: Survivor full marks for its individuality, but compared to the predecessor focused on Cal’s time as a Jedi Padawan, each title can stand up on its own merits, and Jedi: Survivor polishes up much of the experience as it propels the narrative ever forward on Cal Kestis’ journey to Tanalorr.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. We will keep you updated on the game's future patches as soon as more come in on them, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
