Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

EA and Respawn have detailed Star Wars Jedi Survivor patch 4, which is scheduled to release later today for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The brand-new update is expected to hit consoles later today, and the PC update is expected to be released later this week. The previous (and most recent) updates were released last week and packed performance improvements for non-raytraced rendering. In addition, this update contained numerous fixes and improvements. As for the contents of this new patch, it contains some PC-specific improvements, as well as a PS5-specific HDR fix alongside various bug and crash fixes across all platforms. As mentioned in the official release notes for patch #4, PC players will benefit from reduced idle time stalls through updated occlusion behavior for ray tracing. In addition, the streaming budgets have been updated which should reduce traversal hitting. Also included with this upcoming patch are some VFX performance improvements. These improvements will also come to consoles later on.

Similar to last week's update, Star Wars Jedi Survivor Patch 4 will again improve non-raytraced performance on PC via updated data handling. We suggest reading the full patch notes here.

Aside from the above-mentioned improvements and fixes, the development team also mentions that it's currently working to further improve performance on PC through future updates.  Down below you'll find what the team is currently working on when it comes to the PC version:

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released last month for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Unfortunately, the game suffers from various performance issues, especially on PC. Here's what we wrote about the sequel in our launch review:

"While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a surprise journey when it was first released, the time spent apart hasn’t made Cal Kestis’ adventures any less enjoyable", Kai Powell wrote in his review. "A similar framework in unfamiliar territories helps to establish Jedi: Survivor as a quality sequel to the original release. Jedi: Survivor still plays it safe in comparison to the prior game. It may be difficult to give Jedi: Survivor full marks for its individuality, but compared to the predecessor focused on Cal’s time as a Jedi Padawan, each title can stand up on its own merits, and Jedi: Survivor polishes up much of the experience as it propels the narrative ever forward on Cal Kestis’ journey to Tanalorr."
