Short GTA 6 Leak Allegedly Shows 6 Seconds of Off-Cam Gameplay; Releasing Fall 2024, Map 2x as Large as GTA V

A rather short GTA 6 footage leak allegedly shows 6 seconds of off-cam gameplay of the highly-anticipated title, including the game's cityscape.

Last year, a massive leak of an early build of Rockstar's next GTA entry resulted in various short videos of the game circulating the web. These leaked videos showed a Vice City setting and two protagonists. According to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, the leaks were legit, although the footage was "early and unfinished". Schreier added, "This is one of the biggest leaks in video game history and a nightmare for Rockstar Games".

Some days ago, Rockstar finally announced that the very first official trailer for GTA 6 would debut on December 5, but ahead of this reveal, we now might have some off-cam gameplay footage. The footage was posted on TikTok and X and shows the skyscrapers of Vice City as well as the game's landscapes. Interestingly enough, this footage appears to match the videos that were leaked last year.

As far as we can tell, the elements used in this off-cam video (and those in last year's leaked videos) are new and not assets from GTA 5.

Now, what might be even more interesting when it comes to this leak is that it's been claimed to originate from a friend of the son of the current head of development and co-studio head at Rockstar North, Aaron Garbut. Alongside this 'information', more details about GTA 6 were supposedly leaked as well. According to this leak, GTA 6 will feature a map that's two times the size of GTA V's Los Santos. In addition, the game is said to include three major cities and four sub-cities with a large lake around the middle of the map. We've included these details below.

According to the leaker, 70% of the buildings in GTA 6 will be enterable, and the game is supposedly launching in the fall of 2024. This lines up with Take-Two forecasting major revenue growth in the fiscal year that ends in March 2025. Also, pre-orders for Rockstar's game will reportedly go live following this week's first trailer of the game.

As always with these kinds of leaks, take this information with a fair pinch of salt for now. Rockstar hasn't officially commented on this new leak. We'll update you as soon as more information about GTA 6 and this 'leak' comes in. For now, stay tuned. What are your thoughts about this leak? Is this the real deal? Hit the comments below.

GTA 6's first official trailer will be released two days from now, on December 5th at 9 AM ET.
