After AMD, its board partners have unveiled custom RDNA 4 professional GPUs with passive heatsink design.

Multiple GPU Vendors Unveil Passive Designs for the Recently Launched RDNA 4 Professional GPUs

AMD recently launched two more RDNA 4-based professional workstation GPUs, expanding its pro GPU catalog with versatile options. Both GPUs boast a fanless design, which can now be seen on custom GPU editions by AMD's board partners. A few AIBs have just unveiled their own designs, including both Radeon AI PRO R9700S and Radeon AI PRO R9600D based on NAVI 48, and we can see the same dual-slot design for the R9700S, but a single slot thickness for the other.

PowerColor has unveiled its Radeon AI PRO R9700S 32G-P, which has probably the most straightforward design of all, boasting a black shroud that doesn't even feature a PowerColor logo. The GPU boasts a 16-pin power connector on the end, and as we can see, there is a backplate as well. The connectivity includes 4x DisplayPort 2.1a ports.

From Sapphire, we have both Radeon AI PRO R9700S and R9600D 32 GB editions, featuring simple but somewhat decorated shrouds. featuring both AMD Radeon and Sapphire logos with some accents on the backplate. The card boasts 4x DisplayPort 2.1 ports, and we have the 12V-2x6 connector on the end of the PCB.

The Radeon AI PRO R9600D, on the other hand, boasts a single-slot design, has 1x DP 2.1 port, and a 12V-2x6 connector. It's weird why AMD and its board partners utilized the 16-pin power connector for a 150W GPU, but nonetheless, it should be much safer than the mainstream 600W GPUs.

From ASRock, we have a much different design, even though it deploys the passive cooling solution on both cards. The ASRock Radeon AI PRO R9700S Passive PS 32G and the Radeon AI PRO R9600D Passive PS 32G have a grey heatsink shroud with white accents. Most of the stuff is similar to other cards in connectivity, but here the R9600D has been equipped with 4x DP 2.1a ports instead of just one.
