Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Duo To Feature Voice Guided Phone Setup Via Bixby Assistant
Samsung is yet to announce its flagship S-series smartphone for the year 2018. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are set to be announced on February 25th, ahead of the highly anticipated Mobile World Congress event. At this point in time, we have heard a lot of rumors on the flagship duo from Samsung. In addition to this, we have also encountered various leaks from well-famed personalities such as Evan Blass and more. However, software is an unexplored territory surrounding the forthcoming Galaxy S9. For what we have heard, the Galaxy S9 will make use of the company's Bixby assistant for voice-guided phone setup. So let's dive in to see some more details on the matter.
Samsung's Upcoming Galaxy S9 To Use Bixby Assistant For Voice Guided Phone Setup
As we have mentioned earlier, Samsung will be using its virtual assistant Bixby to guide the user through the setup wizard process on the Galaxy S9 and its bigger plus sized variant. Initially, when you turn on your new device, you are redirected to the setup wizard that allows you to sign into your account and other details. You are required to connect to the nearest active and accessible Wi-Fi to complete the setup. There are quite a handful of other options that you must fulfill in order to use the new device.
A SetupWizard APK was discovered in the APK files for Android Oreo, which is most likely to be part of the Samsung Galaxy S9. So how will the Bixby virtual assistant guide you through the setup wizard? Users who are new to Android will find the process and operation to be quite cumbersome. Bixby will basically complete the setup through your voice, answering certain questions to make the experience easier.
One thing to note here is that the Android Oreo builds are different for the Galaxy Note 8 and the Galaxy S9. This means that the APKs could possibly have different strings. Bixby is not currently supported by the Galaxy S9. Setup Wizard APK is not supported as well. So there's a bit of info-gap here, probably in the near future, Samsung will bridge it with further information.
There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for the latest news. This is all for now, folks. What are your thoughts on the Bixby virtual assistant guiding you through the initial setup process on the forthcoming Galaxy S9 duo? Share your views with us in the comments.
