Samsung took a different approach to deploying the One UI 7 update than its other releases due to its focus on delivering an optimal experience despite technical challenges. After six beta versions, the company finally started rolling out One UI 7 based on Android 15 on April 7, 2025. The update was first extended to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold, and Z Flip 6, and the remaining devices were to receive it in the following weeks. However, after a critical bug was spotted, a halt was put to the release, making users feel dismayed over the continued delay. Samsung users would be relieved to know that the company is now resuming the One UI 7 rollout after a week of pause.
Samsung is resuming the One UI 7 rollout that was paused to patch critical bugs spotted
Samsung had to pause the deployment of its One UI 7 update globally after a critical bug was found. The company has now finally resumed the rollout of the One UI 7 based on Android 15 after a brief halt for the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold, Z Flip 6 and reaching other users globally which includes the United States. As per reports by the Android Authority, the update is now being delivered to users globally and is live for T-Mobile customers in the US.
The latest update is meant to bring some major improvements over previous releases. It focuses on new AI features, better animations, and enhanced privacy controls. It also aims to make the overall experience more responsive and seamless for users. Samsung started rolling out the One UI 7 in the first week of April, but soon after, it was paused due to several complaints from users in South Korea being unable to unlock their phones after installing the update.
While Samsung did not officially confirm the reason for putting a pause, it informed users about the change in plans and that the update was rescheduled to ensure an optimal user experience. Since the critical bug has now been dealt with, the South Korean tech giant is now resuming the rollout and going more aggressively about it by extending to major carriers and regions rapidly.
Samsung's release of One UI 7 based on Android 15 was snail-paced, especially keeping in view how Google allowed developers to access Android 15 in September 2024. Still, the tech giant went with a slower approach and adjusted it according to its own ecosystem. While the Galaxy S25 lineup and the latest Galaxy A series phones were launched with One UI 7 out of the box, the older flagship phones are now getting the update. The Galaxy S23 series, S24 FE, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S10, and Tab S9 series are the next line to get the update and access the new features it will offer.
