Hands On Video For Samsung's Galaxy S9/S9+ Screen Protectors Shows Sensor Cutouts And Reduced Bezels
As things move closer to launch, leaks start to take place more often. Manufacturers start to finalize components and devices move towards final assembly. It's during this phase, which involves transporting many different parts that sources are able to offer us glimpses of what to expect from upcoming gadgets. Apple's iPhone X and Samsung's Galaxy S8/S8+ are no strangers to this phenomenon.
And now, it's the S9 and S9+ which grace the rumor mill once again. This time, we've got their screen protectors for you. The two parts bear strong resemblance to what has already surfaced on the rumor mill. They're also quite similar to the S8 and S8+ except for one detail. The bezels on today's leaked panels are noticeably smaller than the S8 lineup. Or at least that's what we're able to discern from the video.
As you can see, the sensors at the top extreme right and left stay the same. These suggest a similar Iris scanning arrangement on the S9/S9+ as their predecessors. However, we've also seen rumors that claim Samsung will improve Iris recognition this year on the S9 lineup. This is possibly due to the tech maturing and the fact that Apple massively upped the stakes with Face ID on the iPhone X. Finally, if you're expecting the Korean tech giant to update its next flagship smartphones with Facial Recognition, don't. There are no sources with the information.
Other details for the S9 lineup include next generation 10nm processors, a 3.5mm earphone jack and improved internals. Samsung's ability to manufacture memory, storage and other smartphone components gives it a strong edge over competitors. But will the S9 lineup feature any game changing upgrades? Right now, we don't think so. But, things change fast in the tech world. So stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below. We'll keep you updated on the latest.
