Samsung reportedly launchiing its AR glasses alongside S25 series

Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm are all working together to bring a mixed-reality device forward, and this has been buzzing around for quite some time. Since the South Korean tech giant teased about the project being under work, it has seen massive delays accounting for significant challenges that made it difficult for the company to bring out the AR glasses. Now it seems the wait is finally over, as reports claim that we might see the long-awaited smart glasses alongside the Galaxy S25 series in 2025.

Reports suggest that Samsung AR glasses might finally make its way with the launch of the Galaxy S25 lineup

While this year might not have been the best for Samsung in terms of its products leaving a lasting impression, the company is determined to change that next year. It has been aggressively working to bring innovations and is said to be stepping into new categories. Samsung's XR project attracted a lot of attention, but the reveal seemed to have been delayed earlier. Now, that is said to change as we might see the smart glasses soon at the Galaxy Unpacked 2025.

A renowned tipster shared on X that Samsung is working on unveiling its Augmented Reality (AR) glasses during Unpacked next year alongside the S25 lineup. The company is going to launch a prototype that will mirror Meta's approach with its Project Orion. Until Samsung officially confirms the details, all the information shared should be taken with a grain of salt. It is nonetheless refreshing to hear about the project's development and how it was not left in the air as the company was working on shifting to smart glasses instead.

The change in the decision is said to be attributed to the poor sales performance of the Apple Vision Pro and, simultaneously, the great reception of Meta's smart glasses that offer more utility and accessibility. After seeing users' inclination towards smart glasses instead of headsets, Samsung and Google pivoted in a different direction.

It is also said that Samsung will introduce the glasses software to the public this month, which would add to users' excitement. This would allow developers to get a glimpse early on of augmented reality and could help set the stage within its ecosystem. While other details remain sparse, we are excited about the potential of AR glasses being under development and hopefully coming out early next year.
