Razer ARGB Chroma Lights Review: So Much Customization For Any Situation Imaginable!
Razer ARGB Chroma Light Strip Set
I wish my actual pictures did justice for such a pleasing Razer product. Here's what I got.
It really does not transfer the way I wanted it to. I wanted you to see the reds and yellows. A downfall of old camera tech.
Anyway, to the review!
RAZER CHROMA LIGHT STRIP SET
Upon opening the package, you know immediately the quality of the lights. Extremely thick and durable, the three strips are easy to wrap around for any straight or curved area. They do not bend completely without actually destroying the lights, but to do so would also be an extreme feat of power.
SET YOUR RGB FREE
Immerse yourself in the full Razer Chroma™ RGB experience anywhere with the Razer Chroma Light Strip Set. With the help of its wireless controller, sync your setup instantly as you enjoy gaming in a whole new light.
In the package are two smaller strips—each being 50cm in length—and one 100cm length light strip. The housing for the three is not transparent, allowing for the light to actually create an amazing glow of colors. If I wanted to combine the three lengths together, I can do to each end having a connection for the main controller box, and the other to connect to another set of lights. With three separate sections plugged into one side, you could buy additional light strips for additional lights (well over 600cm in length if connected to each other). There are even fifteen mounting brackets with additional adhesive for each, allowing you to place them in the open or discretely under a cabinet, desk, behind a monitor. The options are honestly endless.
As far as control, you can either cycle through options with the staggering 84 different effects with the buttons located on the controller. Or, you can go through even more options with the mobile app (Android, iOS) through Bluetooth, or through your PC via the Razer Synapse 3 software package, also utilizing a USB-A Bluetooth dongle.
POWERED BY RAZER CHROMA™ RGB

What I enjoy with any LED or RGB lighting kit is the amount of customization available. Razer went all out in this department, offering everything from effects like waves, breathing, cycling, and more!
The software was close to 415MB for the full package of apps. Each has its own functionality. You can connect to apps and games, each one with preprogrammed lighting effects meticulously made by Razer and their amazing community. You can also program each individual light in each strip. That's 120 lights total that you get to play with to your heart's content. You also can have it react to music, with so much editing of the lights that you will look like a professional after a few hours of nothing but tweaking every little detail.

The one downfall, and it is so minor that I hate even saying anything about it, is the lights attract dust due to the housing they are in. I placed it on my carpeted floor as I was moving some things around on my desk, and having pets there will always be hair on the carpet that may not be noticeable to the naked eye. Once I picked up the kit, I had to gently wipe each one down because of the amount of hair that had picked up onto it.
It also reminded me I need to vacuum.
You really cannot go wrong with this set, especially if you are a hardcore lighting geek like myself. It does come with a hefty price tag for the basic set ($129.99 for the kit, $79.99 for the extension light kit), but you are getting a very quality setup. I personally am looking at replacing the original lights under my current desk and replacing them with the Razer ARGB Chroma lights.
These lights are much better than your run-of-the-mill LEDs and will last much longer than the very thin strips that you can get for much less. Even with the fact that they can easily collect dust or dirt, they are very easy to clean and are cool to the touch, so I never feel like a fire will start from the kit. I highly recommend the investment if you can swing it, especially for something that will last three to four times as long as the inexpensive LED light strips from your local stores.
A very quality light set, well worth the cost for something that will last for several years.
- Highly durable, very bright, highly customizable
- A little pricey, software can be overwhelming at first
